I use this knive regularly and it is indestructible. It can be use for chopping wood thanks to its weight and thickness of the blade. And is so razesharp that i also use it for cooking sometimes. I have actually seen a norwegian chef use it as kitchen knive. The plastic handle is great and feels very durable and easy to clean

I have had the VG10 and the 3G versions. Both are great. If you can afford it, the 3G is amazing steel. I am a knife nut. I have lots of knives from Bark River, Fallkniven, Benchmade, Spyderco, Mora, etc. The Fallkniven F1 is absolutely one of the best fixed blade knives I have owned. Some do not care for the rubbery handle. But, I do. It does not get hot or cold with seasons. And, it has excellent traction if wet or bloody. The knife is light and easy to carry. The blade size and shape are very practical. The only negative is the lanyard hole. It is not far enough back on the blade. The hole for the lanyard actually falls directly under my pinky finger.
I highly recommend this knife!

People have asked me what the best knife in the the world is. It's a stupid question, there are lots of great specialized knives to suit every purpose. If you do not need a specialized knife, but rather a general use camping, hunting, fishing, picnicing, bushcraft, whittling knife that could scare someone off in a pinch, then this is the best knife in the world. Non-aggresive trim design, great cutting power, great steel, grippy handle, convex grind. Just outstanding in every way. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar its hard to beat.

This is an excellent knife for the outdoors. The blade arrived shaving sharp and it looks to be very durable. I like that it is stainless steel so it is much less likely to rust.It seems a little pricey but I think it is worth the price.

This was Fallkniven's first knife put out in 1995. The family companies ancestors were knife makers
