Just bought this knife, always loved the classic look of this blade.
over all i am very happy with the knife but have some concerns about the build quality...
upon further scrutiny i have noticed a gap on the back of the knife (spine) between the bolster and spine...the gap runs all the way down the knife...if i could submit a pic i would.
Also the knife is not aligned very well when closed.
Wish buck will take this seriously as i plan to have this baby a lifetime.
Thanks for reading.

I'm from Italy (i tell you so you can understand the atypical knife price and the strange english...)

Great value for the price.
This mythic knife doesn't get discussed: 50 year life, 15000000 sold... Very tough knife, sharp out of the box, and with a great look. Not really an EDC knife, but for everyone who loves folding knives and everyone who needs a working horse!

The Buck 110 is an American classic. People like to talk about how heavy the 110 is. For a pocket knife it is heavy I agree completely. But it's design is probably the best all around use knife ever made created by buck. People say the blade is hard to sharpen. Don't let it get dull because steel is so great and hArd it's tough to sharpen. If you sharpen the blade down which I've never done send it to buck they will put a brand new blade on it.

i've owned 2 buck 110s. other than being too large for a pocket.definetly a sheath knife, you can't beat it! no blade play or wobble. holds an edge, very sharp. for the price, you will not find a better built knife!

I have 2 of these knives, one from a year ago and one from 30 years ago. I'll review the newer of the 2. The knife is very solid, with no play in the mechanism when in the locked position. Small amount of side to side play when closed, but no up and down play. Locked solid when open or closed. Blade steel is sufficient for cutting duties. I wouldn't use it for a pry bar, but it has cut boxes, weeds, summer sausage, kindling, deer, squirrels, all with ease. Very sharp, but doesn't hold edge as well as higher priced steel. Handle gets slick when wet.

Every American should own a "Buck knife".

This is a great classic knife, I can say that at least one person you know owns one or had one. This is a great design lockback strong, 420HC clip point blade very sharp. Brass bolsters wood inlays. Nice black leather sheath with a nice fit. It is on the heavy side but I don't mind it and it fits nice on the hand. It has more of a setimental value than anything. If you only going to buy one folding Buck in your life this should be it.

I've had this knife for roughly 18 years. It was my father's. He got it in 1978. It was given to me as a replacement knife for the one my dad broke.

Blade-

Given the width of this knife I believe the knife should be thicker. Though it does provide adequate strength and durability as it survived boy scouts and all all the other abuse a teenage can inflict.

Edge-

It have lost more than 1/8" off the edge over the year due to sharpening from both my dad and myself. Though it does retain the longest razor edge of all the various Buck knives I've owned over the years.

Handle-

The handle is very heavy and very thick in comparison to the blade. The wood finish wore off long before I got out of puberty and the brass has started to turn green. The steel has yet to show even a hint of rust even after 32 years.

Locking Mechanism-

The lock is still good. But it does get dirty. I now just put it in the dishwasher to clean it all out, but I pull it out before the dry cycle.

Sheath-

Mine has the original black leather sheath. it is still in great condition and though it shows signs of age, it is still very durable and strong.

Overall-

Personally I still find this knife to be very heavy for its size. It has been joked that if need be the knife can be used as a knife, hammer or club. I replaced the knife due to its thickness and weight, not due to its performance.
