Have been using the Heavy Gurkha Kukri Carbon steel V seferal years. My knife is an older model with a black finish, full flat grind blade and cordura sheath. Although I live in Europe, where the predominant firm woody vegetation, Kukri has proven to be an excellent choice to prepare the ground for the camp, the camp arrangement, making makeshift huts and all difficult tasks including those commonly performed with an ax. This heavy knife is a great choice for cutting the game, for example large wild boar.
Geometry of the blade is spcific so you must be careful when cutting the swing because if the vertical stroke at a slight angle, the blade may be rejected and end up stuck in your leg. It's hard to find a knife that can be compared to kukri in efficiency.

My knife was bought in 2003 says made in USA. Not sure if current models are stamped the same. The blade is one of my go to blades for the woods. It chops better than some blades costing 3 times as much. It has a sweet spot. My knife back then came with a really nice Bladetech sheath. If your a big survival blade fan like me

this blade is a must have

This thing is a beast. Razor sharp and very nicely balanced in hand. It feels solid and would highly suggest it to anyone who wants a good survival knife. It can easily replace a hatchet. The only downside is the price, I got the SK5 version and I still paid well over $150.
