I'm a sucker for smaller pocket knives. I've carried the SAK Classic for over 35 years. Recently, I've gone to the Ambassador as a pocket carry for the slightly larger size. More than the blades I like these two knives for the scissors, nail file, tweezers and toothpick.

The Cadet doesn't offer scissors, toothpick, or tweezers but it offers some other useful tools and a much nicer blade. What it offers the most for me is elegance. I love the Alox scales. I bought both a red and silver version and because I have a Classic on my key chain now, I can forgo the handle tools and scissors the Ambassador offers. I suspect I'll rotate between the Cadet and Ambassador for pocket carry as they each offer something unique.

This knife is a great EDC multitool. It's thin and lightweight. When you put it into your pocket it just disappears. It also looks great with the alox handle. I'm getting one or two more just in case I lose this one. It has all the essential tools you will likely use most. This is a great knife and if you dont have one, get one... or three

What is there to say about the Victorinox Cadet that hasn't been said before? It's a great little knife made by a very well-respected company. I found 2 of them on clearance at my local Target, so I bought a red Alox and green Alox version. For the price I paid ($18 total) it was a steal! Even at regular price (about $18 each) it's still a great value. It comes with a knife blade, a nail file, a bottle opener/screwdriver, and a can opener/screwdriver. As soon as I got them home I easily got both blades up to a hair-shaving edge on my Sharpmaker. The fit and finish of both is fantastic, the Alox handles are comfortable, and the little Cadets just look great! They also have a key ring so you have many options for carrying them.

Overall, they're thin, light, inexpensive, and high quality. Can't go wrong at all with a Victorinox Cadet.... Or two.
