I own the ESEE 4 and the ESEE Laser Strike, I will tell you the if you are looking for a lightweight wilderness blade the Laser Strike is a much better option then the ESEE 4. The handle is much more ergonomic and longer the the ESEE 4. It has an awesome kydex sheath, and the heat treatment on the 1095 is great. I would recommend this blade to those looking for a companion to large blades or as a stand alone bushcraft/hiking knife.

How did you come to the conclusion that the heat treating on the blade was great ?
