I bought his knife because I wanted a fixed blade edcand I've owned an esee 5 for a while. This knife is everything I could want in an EDC. Lightweight, durable and the best warranty on the market. It does everything imwant and more.

Perfect thin shape and size, very simple and stylish. Small enough to carry very easily in a variety of ways. Large enough to handle almost any job. The best warranty on the market to back it up. The only knife you would ever need to buy for the rest of your life.

The ESEEGood EDC blade around the campsite, ranch, self-defense, or to pair with a bigger wilderness blade.

GOOD- high build quality, good sheath, slices extremely well, not bad on price, and with my large size hands it fits better then my RAT 3, because the handle is 1/2 an inch longer.

BAD- the finger choil is not needed, there are other knives I would carry before this one like the TOPS KNIVES Lite Trekker or TSK.

I bought this knife based on the great on-line reviews. After handling it for a while I returned it. I felt the blade was too wide for being so short. The handle was almost too short. My little finger barely fits on the handle. And, I hate the choil. It is not needed on such a short knife. It wastes room that could be used for a cutting edge. And, it is too small to put your finger in, without cutting your finger on the blade. The Fallkniven F1 is a far superior knife.

While the F1 is a better bushcraft knife, and there are better knives for other specific tasks, I think the ESEE is a better all around general purpose knife, and is a great alternative to a folder.

Although analytically I have to agree with Everett's review (all the aspects he focused are true) when it comes to pick a knife to work with I tend to use the ESEE 3. I have some great knives (including the above mentioned Fallkniven F1) but I usually pick this simple but great to use ESEE 3 knife. Why? Don't know, but it's just as simple as that!I recommend the ESEE 3 and would buy it again.
