i bought this knife when i first started collecting because it was cheap. the saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies to this knife. for 25$ this is a fairly decent knife. but the overall quality is pretty low but if you're looking for a very very cheap edc then i would buy this knife.

I just got my OSO Sweet today - and I am impressed. Keep in mind that this knife cost me $18 on Amazon. This is an inexpensive (well under $20 knife) and this review is based on knife features found at that price point.

Overall - I call it an 8. Great big 3" 8Cr13MoV blade that snaps right out there - faster than either of the Leek blades that I own. It is a little heavier blade and that probably helps with the snappy deployment. The deployment lever is well placed and easy to manipulate. It's fairly sharp out of the box. I have gotten sharper edges from Kershaw, but not at this price point.

Build quality is an 8 as well. Seems solid and well built. The knife does seem blade heavy. The knife weighs 3.2 oz. The liner does not look to be skeletonized but the nylon scales are very lightweight. The blade locks well and looks well centered when closed. The satin clip is easy to slip on and off a pocket. The scales have a light texture that is easy on the hands and gives up a little on the grip.

Ergo are a 7 - based on the scale texture and grip purchase. It's comfortable enough to grip. I have pretty big hands and it fits me well. It's just that there is no jimping and the scale is so light that it really does not add much to grip security. The fore-finger groove is nice and deep and the flipper lever is well placed when deployed. Nice little thumb ramp built into the frame and scales. The Oso Sweet is a little on the wide side due to the nylon scales, but they add to the grip. Very little in the way of jimping. There is some on the back spacer but that really doesn't do anything to secure the grip. Plenty good enough grip for a light duty knife.

Value - 9 because of the price point. Not a full featured knife but solid and basic. If you are looking for an everyday light duty beater this is a good candidate.

I think for the money you spend on this knife, it is one of the better options you can go with! YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!!! This knife is very sturdy, has a very good lockup, is assisted opening and is a bit on the heavier side but feels as if it is not going to fall apart anytime soon! I had returned the Gerber "Bear Grylls Survivor Series" Folding Sheath Knife due to it beginning to fall apart on me, so I picked this one up and was really shocked when I opened it and saw how solid this thing was! I had heard GREAT reviews about this knife so I figured I would give it a shot. It gives you the option to carry tip up or tip down (which is a plus for a cheaper knife). I havent had it for that long but I have total faith that this knife will hold up under pressure! It came out of the box very sharp and I have cut a couple of boxes with it and it still has a pretty sharp edge on it.

Fantastic EDC knife. Lightweight, quick to deploy. Mine is the 2010 update version with the 8Cr13MoV steel. Easy to get shaving sharp. I use it to cut open boxes and packaging most days and it needs a touchup with a steel every couple of days, and a cleanup with a 1000 grit stone every other week. This is a solid, knife. Locks up perfectly, no blade play.Is just a fraction too thin for my hand, but that's what makes it disappear in my pocket so easily.I couldn't want for a better EDC.

As others have noted, Kershaw chose AUS 6 steel for the blade. This is a very good, modern stainless, and performs well. It also contributes to the Oso Sweet's low price. However, it results in a blade with only fair edge-holding and strength. The Oso sweet is light and very comfortable in the hand. The assited opening makes it easy to deploy with either hand. Oso's blade geometry is excellent (as you would expect from him). All in all, this is a very good economy pocket knife for light to moderate use. It allows the knife lover on a budget to enjoy the design genius of one of the best knife makers around at a price that is easy to afford. It is well assembled and reliable. Just be prepared to sharpen it more often than some other knives.

For a sub $20 knife, you can't go wrong.

Black injection-molded glass-filled nylon handle provides moderate grip and durability.

AUS6A steel is decent, nothing for hard use, but not to bad for light duty cutting, it gets razor sharp but doesn't hold it as fast as higher grade steel, which is a given.

Speedsafe works flawlessly.

Flipper deployment offers quick and easy opening.

Linerlocker locks up tight, but there is some bladeplay.

Polished pocketclip holds well and looks pretty decent in pocket.

Disassembly and cleaning is fairly easy with torx screws.

Pretty decent knife for the price point!
