this knife is a real head turner! the 154CM takes an edge very well and it stays scary sharp for a long time without any touchup work. for a knife of this size it rides very nicely in the pocket. the axis lock is easily gods gift to the knife enthusiast. the G10 handle is very classy and solid. i kind of wish they had put a little more texturing on the G10. i got the black finish on the blade and it shows its use, but i put this knife through hell and back on a daily basis. the blade stays nice and centered, just like every other Benchmade. i cannot find a single negative thing to say about this knife.

I got this knife used for a rediculously low price because the kid who sold it to me stripped the pivot screw and wasnt aware of Benchmade's warranty [they fixed it for free of course and sent it back to me free via UPS.} That said, I would buy this knife new if I lost it.Sure it's huge but man is it fun! I have other Benchmades [520 Presidio,Nimravus,Mini presidio Ultra] but this 741 is the one I play with all the time. It's a work of art in

functionality, performance and just plain Wow Factor. Easy to keep sharp with a strop, love the 154 steel, the scales are elegant and feel great in my hand. I recommend this to anyone who has huge hands like me! Benchmade and Bob Lum really knocked it out of the park with this one.

You want a big folding knife? Here it is. This is one of my top 4 Benchmades and it is as smooth to open as the small 707 "Sequel". If this knife is anywhere near me, I am constantly doing the open/close routine.

Bob Lum (RIP) designed a great knife, his first AXIS lock. It has a 4.48" MCP, 154CM blade. My only weakness that I see is a smaller/thinner tip when compared with other knives this large.

I'm not going to be stabbing a bowling ball with it anyway.

The tip up pocket clip is larger and well positioned which makes it easier to carry than you would think for a knife just under 7oz's.

For a purpose built blade, Benchmade hit the nail on the head. I can't find anything really wrong with it. The lock is an axis lock which in my opinion is one of the strongest for folding knives. 154cm blade steel is really each to maintain and the blade feels silky smooth when deploying with no play at all. Although some say that it is too big for edc, I happily disagree. The knife feels like it isnt even there and it is so beautiful from the blade to the clip I don't mind carrying it. This knife in my opinion is the best benchmade folding knife to date.

Well excecuted copy of Bob Lum's "Forester" model. Large knife, with exceptional full flat grid that is both thin and tall. G-10 looks great, not too overly grippy, but handle ergos are good enough to over come the slicker G-10. Does have a nice pattern to the G-10. Clip is a copy of Bob Lum's original clip, which you may like or not. Clip is not movable to another spot on the knife, so if you are left handed might be an issue. Axis lock is typical, strong, reliable, and possibly the best knife lock out there. If you are able to navigate around Benchmade's MAP pricing it is a good value for the money.
