The Mini Onslaught for its price is one hell of a knife, the handle design and build makes you feel like it was custom built. The blade is very thin and is made more for slicing than chopping or stabbing. It carries like a tactical knife and I'm sure would hold its own in a self defense role, similar to the ParaMilitary 2. The Axis lock is buttery smooth as is any Benchmade knife. Buy one now before it's discontinued, it is a really cool folder!

I purchased the 746 about a month ago from a local knife shop. I owned the 741 Onslaught prior to this and was already a fan of the Bob Lum design. I always thought that the 741 would be perfect if it was scaled down and bit. The 746 Mini-Onslaught is an excellent EDC sized knife with a blade length just under 3 1/2". The knife I purchased is a first production with plain edge using 154cm steel. The edge is beveled nicely and even on both sides. The blade seats in the handle perfectly centered. Handles are smooth G10 that some might find lacking in texture but suitable for my needs. Liners are 420j. The blade has thumb-hole opener and is very ergonomic and smooth. Blade lockup is Benchmades Axis locking mechanism and engages with no blade play side to side or vertically. The pocket clip is not reversible and only allows for tip-up carry due to the Axis lock. Blade provides excellent utility edge and came from factory with razor sharpness. The 746 Mini-Onslaught has served very well as one of my preferred every day carries.
