This blade is the Wilderness King. If you like big blades this is at the top of the list.

GOOD- high quality, great kydex sheath, tough, heavy making it good for chopping, great handle ergos for chopping.

BAD- it is pricy, 33oz. with the sheath is heavy to trek around with, not comfortable when doing extended cutting or carving tasks, best suited for chopping and batoning.

Ive had this knife it feels like forever, and have carried it almost everyday since I picked it up. It snaps open super fast and sometimes surprises non-knife carrying friends when i pull it out of my pocket and open it in one quick movement. If I have one gripe it is that it doesn't hold an edge very long. I do love this knife and would recommend it to anyone if they asked me for my opinion.

Comments:

A friend recently gifted this knife to me after a trip to Norway. First impression is that the Eggen is absolutely beautiful.

The wood handle has a gorgeous grain and is sanded smooth with an oiled finish. It is extremely comfortable to grip, as it is well shaped and sufficiently thick. The knife appears to have a full tang. Often times with knives of this design, the handle becomes loose because wood swells with varying humidity. I detect essentially no movement of that nature with this knife.

As for the blade, it is stainless but I'm not sure what steel was used. It has a saber grind and is pretty thick. Still has no problem slicing through a piece of paper without grabbing at all.

It comes with a well made leather sheath. My only complaint with the sheath is that is relies purely on friction to hold the knife in. There is no positive "click" to let you know you are engaged like with a kydex or molded sheath.

The overall craftsmanship almost makes this knife feel more like a dress knife than a survival knife. It looks too nice for me to want to take it outdoors and beat on it. Overall, it is well balanced and a pretty nice knife. Helle isn't popular in the USA at the moment, but it wouldn't surprise me if their business here started to pick up in the near future.

This budget EDC blade from Leatherman is a great little workhorse you can thrash on and it just comes back for more.
GOOD- price, blade design and cutting capability, lightweight.
BAD- tip down carry only (not how I prefer to carry), thick handle takes up room in your pocket, and the 420HC steel will not hold and edge very long.

A great medium duty tool between the light duty Leatherman tools like the Wingman or Sidekick, and the heavy duty Leatherman tools like the Wave or Super Tool.
GOOD- price, tools offered, replaceable 154CM wire cutters, lightweight, and sheath options.
BAD- 420HC steel will not hold an edge for very long, not spring loaded cutters.

This is the best Knife I have ever used. I own several and am always looking for more. The hidden release fools everyone but those that know the knife well. There is also a manual version that I carry when it could be confiscated for having an auto. Most knives that I carried years ago would last six months to one year. My first LCC DA lasted 7 years as my EDC which I use hourly and sharpen weekly.

I couldnt agree with you more.it is a knife I will never trade.made in mt hay day for a whooping 150$wow.now it would easly start at 550$.it has star drivers not the stupid priority screws.the blade slices and cuts like a dream.smooth opening with absolutely no bladeplay.fires out on auto with authority.to me this knife is perfection.the blades nowadays fo for hust looks materials and crazy stupid tripple recurve or whatever useless grinds.the lcc very comfortable no hot spots realy nice modified clip point .great materials just a home run.if marphione didnt piss off greg lightfoot we might still have these bad boys.greg lightfoot is also out and making those mall ninja fantasy multigrind 2000$ dollar blades you will never use .whats with these new grinds.I use my knives im a chef multigrinds how do you sharpen or use them.pointless.with expensive eye gauging materials.a huge polished terd.get a mt lcc in any condition you can its a real knige

When you are on a budget and you are looking for a light duty stainless steel blade this is a great option.
GOOD- price, lightweight, very sharp and easy to resharpen, full tang, very ergonomic handle for extended carving and cutting.
BAD- 4116 German steel is soft and will not hold an edge very long, no lanyard hole for chopping, too thin for batoning.

Perfect thin shape and size, very simple and stylish. Small enough to carry very easily in a variety of ways. Large enough to handle almost any job. The best warranty on the market to back it up. The only knife you would ever need to buy for the rest of your life.

There are really two ideas that need to be covered to adequately convey my opinion about the Tuition. One is a general opinion based on the knife itself, no pulled punches. With this in mind, note this is a small sheep's foot liner lock with a medium tier 1160 ss blade. Not everybody's cup of tea. Still a very good light use folder.

Now. The second point which must be based on the value of the knife based against other knives at it's price point. You will look far and wide to find a better light general duty folder for 22 bucks period. Fit and finish are excellent. Sturdy lock up, no movement when in battery. Awesome ergos make for a really comfortable knife. If you're a fan of sheep's foot blades (love 'em myself, old Navy guy), and require a light duty general purpose folder at a great price, this little folder is aces.

This Leatherman is my constant companion, I EDC it everyday.

GOOD- price, small enough to fit on my key chain, several tools that get small and medium EDC tasks done.

BAD- the small tools can be hard to get out with my large size hands.

This is a great, indestructible, little companion.
GOOD- under $40, very strong 1095HC steel blade, good ergos when paired with the handle scales.
BAD- GRN sheath is bad and dulls the blade, the blade designs is perfect for utility/survival but it is not good at stabbing at all.
I would take the BK14 over an ESEE Izula II for utility/survival, but the Izula can stab better if you are looking for that.

Awesome knife! The convex grind is very conducive to fine wood work. Fit and finish is excellent. The handle is a little bit thin, which doesn't bother me personally. It was designed as a high carbon stainless blade that's meant to be used in colder and wet climates. I think they made the handle thinner for a more comfortable grip with gloves. I took this over the F1 because of the clip point and also a little extra length that doesnt hinder finer tasks.
