Comments:

I've owned the CRKT m16-13z knife for about 2 years now. This is actually the second one I owned since the first one was lost when I went on a fire department ride along. So far I've been very satisfied with this knife. I really love the blade shape, the autoLAWK feature, the steel that is used as well as the quick open feature. The knife seems to stay sharp for a decent amount of time even with heavy use.

The serrations have also stayed sharp, although if I were to buy another knife I think I would just get a plain blade. I think that this knife is primarily a work EDC knife, but I could also see it functioning in a self defense scenario.

Right now my only gripe is the autoLAWK system seems to get dirt and grime where the blade pivots. I noticed this whenever I go to the beach so I've stopped taking my knife there when I go. I once took apart my blade to clean it out and I could barely get it put back together.

My only other complaint is you cannot switch which side the pocket clip is on. Right now it seems like it is not in a very intuitive place, I would much rather have it be on the other side of the knife so I could carry the blade tip up when closed. That would add to faster deployment. Not a big deal, but sizable enough to mention.

The grip is also not very good. I believe the handle is made out of aluminum which is fine when you are in a dry situation, but if you get mud, grease or blood on your knife I think you will have a hard time holding onto it.

Overall it is a very good knife and it is the one I carry with me every day. It sharpens easy and holds an edge well, and the autoLAWK feature, although complicated, gives me a lot of security since it makes the knife a virtual fixed blade by utilizing two separate locking mechanisms. For the price I think it is a great knife for your average joe.

Recently I was looking for something to use on camping trips that could take some abuse. I really liked the looks of CRKT's M16 "spear point" knives, but wanted to avoid AUS4 at all costs. I got lucky

Very high quality build. Radiused corners on the steel and G-10. A tight lock-up. The blade is quite thin and slices well. Four positioning for the clip. This is a very pretty knife, the slightly swooping lines of the blade and handle are quite neat.

The knife is all pin construction. I never take my knives apart but this may be an issue with some people.

My Delica 4 is the stainless steel, plain edge version. Obviously this differs from the FRN model by having stainless steel handle scales, it is also a hollow sabre grind instead of the flat sabre grind used on the FRN model. I have nothing much bad to say about this knife, it is probably one of the better knives to use for EDC as it works really well for just about everything. The VG-10 steel held an good edge and was very easy to sharpen, it's a good steel for a working knife that is going to be used and abused. My only real complaints with the knife are the position of the pocket clip that leaves a fair amount of the knife sticking out of your pocket. Also, the stainless steel handles are very tough and feel good, but it also makes the knife weigh a lot more, the FRN version would probably be a better bet if weight was a concern.

The Kershaw is my first "real" knife, and as such I can't give much comparison to other knives. I can however say that I have used this knife for almost a year carrying it almost every day. It holds it's edge very well and is very easy to open with one hand if needed. The knife feels a little narrow in your hand, but otherwise great and not enough so that it's a problem. I do like it better than a friends similar quality/design Buck knife and the Kershaw holds it's edge longer. The buck feels a little more comfortable because it's wider. I feel it's a great value for the money compared to the other knives I've used and discussed with other knife carriers. One thing I will warn against is that it WILL slip out of your pocket if you use the clip. I'm actually on my second one, and it almost got away too.

I like the design and feel, the blade is excellent, my gripe is that the opening spring after a while fails to open the knife completely, not just on one but on two knives, i lost the first one. The holding clip also came loose but tightened up with the proper tool.

I purchased a Red Smoke finished Leek (Model 1660BR)at the end of December of last year. I've owned it just a little over a month now, and have loved it. It's my first knife, other than a few cheap pen knives when I was younger, so I can't make any particularly informed comparisons, but it seems solid and cuts very well. I considered exchanging it for a knife made of better steel, but the only other realistic option was S30V, and I've read that S30V can have some problems with brittleness. The Speedsafe mechanism works well, and the blade deploys very quickly. One of the reasons I purchased a Kershaw was because I know they have a reputation for very good customer service. It's nice having a product which is warranted for life, and where I know that if it has any issues other than normal wear, I'll be taken care of. It's good too that it's made in the USA. Kershaw, you're doing a lot right here and now have another loyal customer - keep it up.

The military is a great EDC and the steels used are tough (mine has S30V but some of the other editions use other steels). They look great and feel great in your hand. Ergo's are PERFECT for my hand size. I got the digital camo version a few months ago and love it.

The Marines issued a Ka Bar to me 40 years ago in Viet Nam and I have carried it in my tool box ever since. It is a truly rugged knife and I have used and abused mine over the years for just about anything you can think of and never had a problem. A few minutes with a whetstone never fails to put a sharp edge on it. If you are looking for a camping knife that can peel a potato, cut tent stakes, open a tin can, and serve as a hammer in a pinch you couldn't find a better knife.

Brilliant piece of design. Really well made. Works very nicely. Takes a little bit of practice to open and close it well. The blade looks absolutly beautiful, the copper deviding line between the D2 edge steel and the softer spine steel is really nicely done. D2 is almost as hard wearing as S30V. The blade doesn't scratch easily.
My only complaint is the factory edge bevel was a touch uneven and required re-doing.
Very good value for money.

Comments:

The Spyderco Tenacious is a great all around knife. I paid 34 dollars shipped. For the money, it doesn't get better than the Tenacious.

The liner lock is nearly indestructable, phosphor bronze bushings at the pivot, and some very nice G10 knife scales with good texturing. The Tenacious is the beefiest liner lock I've seen by Spyderco.

The blade shape on this knife is great. Full flat grind as well. The cutting edge is roughly 3 3/8". Beware as the cutting edge goes all the way back to the handle. There is no room for the blade to stop against your finger when closing. The opening mechanism is the Spyderhole, and provides enough room to easily open with your thumb. The blade steel is 8cr13MoV, which is adequate, easy to sharpen, and holds an edge ok.

This knife is not the lightest, but it is not a heavy knife by any means. It sits well in the pocket and is still small enough to make a good EDC knife.

The knife is made in China, but fact is you won't find a knife this good at this pricepoint that is made anywhere else.

I highly recommend this knife to anybody looking for an inexpensive knife that is going to perform. I have considered buying a second as a spare. If we could convince Spyderco to make this knife with S30V or VG-10 I'd buy a few more!

Blade shape and full flat grind on the tenacious are long over due.knifes are supposed to cut.get the grind correct and blade taper progressive and they will.

I have owned this knife since about 1996. It was given to me by my parents when I entered boy scouts.

The knife is pretty much your standard swiss army knife. I used the blades mostly but along the way I found uses for pretty much every tool at some point of another. It is very nice to have a toothpick, tweezers, and a small saw when you are way out in the woods.

The knife is easy to sharpen, light enough to carry, and has great build quality. As with all swiss army knives, I find the ergonomics to be a bit "round" for my taste. I also like a grippier knife.

This is a great starter knife for somebody entering boy scouts or for anybody that wants a multitool and doesn't need the pliers.

I would definately recommend this knife. For heavy cutting purposes though, I would recommend something with a locking feature.

This is one of those products that brings to mind the term "Keep it simple stupid". It's made to be straight forward in functionality & practicality. It is very resistant to wear & is definitely built to be used in the most rugged circumstances.

The blade is made of 153cm steel, drop-point type & comes razor sharp. We use it for our combat knife training, the grip is non-slip & feels comfortable in the hand. It carry's well, is light enough to carry even with suit pants or training pants, the belt clip can be put on either side for left-handed user, has an ambidextrous thumb latch to assist in a draw/close of the blade, it's easy enough to perform a wrist flick draw/close of the blade & the locking mechanism is a very strong direct locking barrel type.

We love this blade purely for it's simplicity & it's awesome value for money. Great buy by any standards.
