Great little knife, as others have mentioned in the reviews if you shop around a bit you can find really good deals out there on this knife. I have the tanto blade and can't say enough about it. Very smooth operation, tight not much play at all. This is my EDC knife so it goes every where with me. I would recomend buying this if your in the market for a good little knife. The VG10 holds an edge very well, the only minor issue I've had with it is I cut some plastic as it was laying on the ground and the sand scratched the finish a bit. Other than that it's a great knife.

I love to buy knives whenever I see them on sale. I saw this one on steepandcheap.com for $50 and I picked it up. It is now the blade I carry everyday to work. It cannot be beat! It's a nice heavy-duty blade that I have no fear to pull out and use at any point of the day. It also does not hurt that it is made from VG-10 steel. It's a harder steel that keeps its' edge well. I have only sharpened it twice. I love having such a razor-sharp knife at my disposal. It is the same steel used in $$$ Japanese kitchen knives. Keep it cleaned and oiled it will last a lifetime I have no doubt. But there is always the SOG warranty to back that up. I love the knife so much I look for situations just to use it so I can pull it out and show it off. The other guys at work don't know what hit them.

It opens easily and there is a finger stud and locks with great strength as well. No blade play. A sound knife all around.

One thing I also love about SOG knives is their customer service. I've contacted them twice and responded quickly both times. I once caught the clip on a chair and bent it. They sent me a new one at no cost to me! I only carry SOG knives now thanks to this one. I have a visionary 1 on the way for $50 as well. If you wait for the right time you will catch a great deal that'll last you a lifetime!

2 years ago I found a great deal on SOGS. They had a limited run of Vulcan Tantos. So I bought 3. 2 Vulcan Mini Tantos for $80 a piece and a Vulcan Tanto for $90. One Mini and the full size are in the safe. I've carried a Mini for nearly 2 years full time. Work, play, anywhere I go I have my Vulcan. I've cut through 2x4s to dig out bullets. Cut wire, plastic, sheetrock, anything you can think of. The Tanto San Mai steel blade is near unbreakable. I've sharpened it once. ONCE. The Vulcans come with twin stainless liners and the Arc-Lok.

The Arc-Lok Is SOG's Ambi lock for thier knives and is good up to 1100 lbs of force. A bonus advantage I've found is that you can open it with a flick of the wrist, but you can also close it with a flick. This takes some practice but becomes near natural after awhile. I can also do this with gloves on. The Vulcan line of knives are some of the top knives you can buy.
