I got this knife as a gift, so this review is by no way influenced on what I paid for it. This is not a utility knife. The up swept point is very limited for everyday use and because the clip is non adjustable, the point faces down while putting it in you pocket. The grip screws (very small torx) worked loose causing the blade to swing out just enough to raise the point out of the liner causing me to stab my thigh. The grip screws are constantly doing this. I would not recommend this as a carry knife.

I bought this knife in September of 2006 right after I graduated from Marine Corps boot camp. i severed 4 years active duty infantry and carried this knife with me the whole time. This is a fenominal everyday knife that never let me down and always got the job done. It holds a very good edge and if very strong and sturdy. The ergonomics of this knife are unbelieveably great. I can hold this knife in any position and it fits like a glove. I still carry this knife everyday and in my opinion, it is still as good as the day I bought it. Kershaw builds the best knives and I will always be a loyal customer.

I bought this knife over at Cabelas for 20 bucks. They still have it now for same price. I've had many knives including Spyderco endura 4, Benchmade Griptilain, Boker plus, and a few other kershaws and what not. This I think is in my top 2 favorite of knives. The blade steel is "Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel" and it is great. I did break the tip doing dumb stuff like using it as a throwing knife. sent ti kershaw and they threw a new blade on it for me. The steel is considered a lower end steel but i think it is THE BEST FOR THE PRICE! It is way better than 440, 8CR13MOV, AUS 8. Not up to par with VG-10, 154CM or S30V. But like i said for price, it is Great. Easy to sharpen, holds and Edge for a long time and i BEAT THE LIVING HELL OUT of this knife. I used to stop, trims bushes with it, (the "limbs" were as thick as fingers), I used to use it for taking bark off of fire wood or cutting twigs and such off of branches,EDCed it for about a year for work and Iam a Carpenter, I used it for a ton of stuff minus PRYING. Only had a little blade play with it. Is a bit heavy of a knife but you dont notice at all when its in your pocket. Want to find a upscaled version of that knife. Love that blade shape and the handle is fit perfect for the hand and the jimping on it is phenomenal.

I've had this knife for over two and a half years now and I use it all the time. I have yet to have a problem with this knife. out of the box it comes razor sharp and holds it edge really well, I've only had to sharpen it one or two times. although it is a little bit difficult to sharpen due to the curve of the blade. it is very light and thin so carrying it in a pocket of a light jacket is no problem. and when carried in your pants pocket like I do there's almost no bulge in the fabric. as far as ergonomics go, I have yet to own a better knife, whether held in normal or reverse grip it almost molds to your hand. it is a very rapid deploying knife thanks to the finger stud on the back if the blade when closed. I have yet to need to oil or lubricate the hinge and it still opens as smooth and fast as it did the day that i bought it. oh, it is American made up that matters to you. overall this is one if the best knives I've ever owned.
