I've seen that many people have underrated this knife.I am not a knife collector or so but i am a survivalist and i appreciate a good built knife.I am very pleased with the results as i have tormented this knife in every way possible. After all my tests with mud, fire, water, snow etc. i can still perform incredibly well with this knife.I haven't even sharpened it since i got it and i still can split logs easily. The smasher on the back of the knife is very efficient and well built as i can crush many objects easily.I also liked the fire starter that came with it.You can produce really good sparks with it and shave it off easily. But i cannot say the same things about the sheath. The plastic lock for locking the knife in the sheath snapped off while i was hammering the knife through a log. This is VERY disappointing considering that this set is built for SURVIVAL situations. But i liked that there is a sharpener on the back of the sheath. As the ergonomics of this knife,it is nearly perfect but after continuously using it for 30 mins or so it becomes difficult to handle it.The whistle on the end of the knife is totally pointless as it clangs around while you use your knife so eventually i took it off.I live in Turkey and they sell these knives around 150$ here so i purchased this knife in the States for 35 bucks so it was a real bargain!
It was the best 35$ i ever spent in my life! This is truly the Glock of knives!!!

The "ultimate knife" is a copy of Gerbers LMF2. Nice ergonomics, appearance is so-so with it's orange plastics and all. But quality... Oh boy! The blade buckles when applied forcecut on insulation straps, went from razor sharp to spoon alike dull after draw knifing and carving for 15 minutes. Now if a couhpotato like me manages to bend and buckle STEEL on PLASTIC and WOOD somethings not right."Maybe slipped quality control, or heat treatment", I thought to myself but after receiving replacement from Gerber it's pretty much the same POS. Clearly they labeled the words "ultimate" and "survival" to the wrong items.

Truth, I got this knife a little after Christmas and it broke a day after!I was throwing it and stuck it in the tree every time and the pommel just popped off and what really got me mad was gerber had the nerve to say they " fixed" it because they've had the same issues but that was like a year ago.I got me replacement today and the sheath was broken!!!!

I just used my ultimate knife for the first time last night on a deer I shot that day. What a great feel the knife has and very strong feeling and usability. It's a stout knife. After the deer was processed and I cleaned my knives I realized the blade, the sharpened edge was bent! Also the serated teeth were damaged. I cut meat, cut into bone to crack it and sawed through some bone and it messed up that much?!?! I called Gerber and they told me to send it to them and they would replace it and that it just happens some times. ?!?!?!
