I got this knife to replace a cheap liner lock I had to throw away during an airport security check, I figured that it'd be a usable blade at most- but I really didn't put much hope in it living to long due to the fact that I'm murder on blades. Its been just over six months now and the freaking things still kicking, despite being generally abused (Screw driver, wire-cutter, ect.) the blade has no nicks in it large enough to impair use, and its held an edge incredibly well, even when I'm cutting .035 aluminum sheet with it.Only gripe- the skeletonizations are to large, I've nicked my fingers more the once with the knife closed.

I have carried a SAK of some sort for over 35 years now. I have never had a bad SAK. I have carried this particular one now going on 6 years.....every day all day long. Cut rope, geotextile fabric, plastic and metal bindings...etc with the large blade. Cleared brush up to 4" in diameter with the wood saw, my opinion is it's the best on the market for its size. Took apart and reassembled numerous miscellanous pieces of equipment with the different size screw drivers and as a matter of fact use the the pop bottle cap opener and can opener frequently. One of the best EDC/Survival knives made...my opinion...why?? I always have it with me and it is a very useful tool. I feel naked without it!!

Ok so to start, this knife is a must buy for anyone in law enforcement or military, the level of absolute abuse this knife can take is astonishing. I own the older model with the steel liners and its rugged toughness is everything i need as a soldier with the Canadian forces and MORE.So lets look at Ergo: For starters the handle material is extremely grippy making it fantastic for cold climates when your hands are cold and you dont have very much dexterity. The handle material will bight into your gloves or your wet cold hands and the fear or losing the knife or cutting yourself is not something to be concerned about. Comfort is another factor, the knife sits well in my hands (medium size hands) and i have at least two grip positions that are provided by the handle shape. one for slashing or piercing an object and one for delicate cutting. The build quality is awesome, not a lose screw, not a faulty blade, lock, or for that matter the pocket clip. I was extremely happy with the way Cold Steel got this product out to consumers with the razor sharp blade still in box. I however wasn't nuts about the Teflon coating. There are better ways to coat a knife and Teflon is a good way don't get me wrong, but expect it to wear off quickly. I also wasn't thrilled about the angles they used for the actual knife edge, as the review above said. i had a 30 degree angle and a 17 degree angle on the reverse side. So unless you're like me or you know very well how to sharpen a knife this can be a bit of a pain to sharpen as a noobie. I gave it a 9 because its still an amazing build and im being anal about the small things. this knife is built to last. and it will not fail you. Value:10 EASY you can not find a better made knife for $60. done. i own at least 50 folders and i think this one to date is the best for what i paid for it. I have some spyderco knives that i have dropped $200.00 on and they simply don't have the ergo, the build quality that was designed for abuse and the practicality of them i question. All said and done, this knife is my favourate in my collection because of practicality, strength and the fact that i paid $60 bucks for an outstanding knife that i can trust. Buy this knife. you wont regret it, i didn't.

Very sharp blade and stays sharp. I've skinned/quartered five deer and two turkeys. Blade is still nice and sharp. The feel and grip is outstanding. The only minus is the clip. It's tough and is difficult to attche to our pocket. After a year it has become easy to attach. I only use it to hunt and for nothing else. With everyday use, I'd assume the clip will loosen much quicker than a year.

This knifes build quality is excellent. The fit and finish is perfect. lock up is strong with no blade play at all. blade is razor sharp and being s30v ,should hold it's edge very well. the handle is comfortable and the action is fast and smooth. this knife is awesome and a great addition to my collection. I highly recommend this knife or any other htm knife. I promise you will not be disappointed.

150 words minimum.the ultratech is an awesome knife. It's well build with a great action. It's s30v blade holds an edge well and was reasonably sharp out of the box. The only issue I see is a slight play in the blade which is normal for otf knives. I recommend this knife highly. I can't stop playing with mine.

I've had my eye on the manix ever since the originals came out a few years ago. I missed the boat on the those earlier models, so I told myself that I would bit the bullet this time and buy one of these. So far, I love my manix 2. The 154 CM has held an edge perfectly. It came from the factory razor sharp, and has only neeeded touching up a couple of times with a strop. I've attacked cardboard, plastic packaging, letters, heavy rope, paracord, and all other manner of knifebait without much resistance. The hole on this one is nice and large, I can open it easily with my bare hand, and wearing gloves. I also really like the ball-bearing lock. It still locks up tight every time and is easy to open with my right and left hand. My only wish for the blade was that it was full flat ground, although the saber grind does the job just fine. The ergos are great on this one. The way the handle is shaped it fills the hand, even without the choil. For close up work you can choke up into the finger choil and get the kind of control you need to do more detailed cutting. The steel liners really lend a lot of weight and heft to this one, so it's not for someone looking for a lightweight blade, you wont forget it's in your pocket. The G-10 from the factory is really grippy. It's pretty rough, but not so bad it roughs up your hands or your pockets. The jimping on this one is nice and aggressive. The inclusion of jimping in the choil and on the rear of the handle really help to lock it in. Overall this is a great knife. Round it out with a strong pocket clip and this is a sure win!

I bought this knife on a whim on a trip to the store. It was worth the nagging I got for having to many knives from the woman. I bought it to carry on day trips fishing just as a cheap replacement to some of my more expensive knives. I have to say I own many brands of knives and this one is right up there with my cold steel and sogs. I have used it to filet fish, cut brush and kindling wood. cut bait and rope and just about anything else you can throw at it. Just last week I skinned and processed a deer with it. The skin turned out perfect very minimal meat on it and through the whole process it held its edge as it has so many times in the past. The knife is comfortable in the hand and very well balanced. The grips on it are the best I have found gerber to have. I have owned 7 different styles of gerber in the past. The ease of sharpening is right up there with my cold steel and sog knives and it holds an edge just as well. The only 2 down sides to it I wish they made a bigger version of it and the snap on the sheath can be hard to close. If this one ever wears out I will definitely buy another.

I bought this knife off of amazon as I needed a smaller EDC knife that I could use to open boxes and whatnot in the office. The corporate environment that I work in is not the ideal place for me to carry my spyderco so it was necessary to find something small.I really like the knife and It feels great in my hand for how small it actually is, however within the first few weeks it had developed a bit of rust on the blade (which came from the factory quite dull). It was nothing that a little bit of steel wool and some light oil couldn't fix, but it was a bit of a bummer to see it happen so soon after purchase and was unexpected as It had not been used for anything other than opening envelopes and packages... To be honest It really exceeded my expectations for a small knife ~30 bucks, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a sub compact style folder with that looks pretty bitchin.

This is the best folder on the market today. This is not a bold claim, as I have used this knife daily for 6 months for EVERYTHING, and it did better than more expensive folders. I've cut boxes, shaved wood, cut rope, eaten steak and even batonned with it along with countless other things. It's as fast as an assisted opening knife, has excellent lockup, excellent jimping and makes an excellent self-defense tool. The drop point FFG blade is perfectly suited for any task. If you have to buy only one knife to meet all of your needs, then let it be this one. Hell, buy 2 just in case you lose one, it sure gives you more bang for your buck than any other knife on the market.
