This is a big, mean looking knife. Works pretty well for normal tasks, but has the heart of a fighter. Sturdy construction, tough blade, and opens nice and smooth. The pocket clip kind of gets in the way in a normal grip. It is nice for a deep pocket carry, but I feel it when griping it tightly during fight training. It also gets in the way when reversing the grip, but this knife works best (for me) in a standard grip. The quality is top notch and the blade lock is rock solid. Hard to explain to the police that you use this one to open boxes. Totally cool looking knife.

This is a really nice knife. Picked it up used for a good price.
After a good sharpening, it will cut anything and stay razor sharp for ages. Probably the best cutting knives I own. Opening is smooth as silk, just a flick of the wrist and it is ready. Its willingness to open when not expected is a little of a problem. I have to keep the pivot tighter than I would want. Yet another Benchmade that is only drilled in one place, but you will want to carry this one tip down because of the possibility of it coming open on the draw. I carry it because it cuts like nothing else.

This is a really nice knife. It is slim and light enough that I keep checking to make sure it is still in my pocket. Buttery smooth opening, cuts really well, stays sharp forever. It feels like it was made for my hand. I did drill and tap for a tip up carry (my preference) because it is only drilled in one place.
It was a good amount of money for a production knife, but I would replace it in an instant if I lost it.

It's not in the same quality standards as the Protech (PT) and Microtech (MT), but I feel it stands right alongside Benchmade (BM) for overall good value for the money spent. The release is not real quick, but quick enough to know it has been deployed with authority. The blade lock-up is excellent, better than the BM and on par with MT and PT. The surface is quite grippy, almost too much with bare hands - better with gloves. It is part of my EDC rotation. Good steel and other materials are top shelf, IMO. Not my favorite blade design, but it'll do...

I have carried a Buck 501 Squire for EDC for 32 years. It has been an excellent knife, holds an edge well, is a nice size to carry in my pocket. No issues with rust or corrosion. Micarta scales have held up well, though the Nickel bolsters are a bit pitted from sharing a pocket with my keys all those years. An excellent knife, I'm planning on getting a second for a spare.
