I have owned my Buck for about 8 years and it has been a very good knife. It is very well constructed light and small. I only wish they used a better composite for the blade for I am constantly sharpening it. It looses its edge really fast and doesn't seem to sharpen very easily. The spring for the assist needs occasional cleaning and oiling to keep the assist working properly. Over all been very realiable.

THis knife is great. I am a police officer and this is my secondary on duty knife. I use this mainly for the seat belt cutter and Glass punch... two of the greatest parts of this knife. THe extra large thumb stud helps a lot with opening the knife when i have my duty gloves on. Great knife for the price i paid.

I have loved Leatherman since I was a boyscout, and have had several since then. I continue to have several since they are the best multi-tool in my opinion and the Wave does not disappoint. I have had the wave for a while now, it is my around the house tool. I cannot tell you how many times it has helped as we have renovated our house. I have done everything from cutting drywal, to wiring with this guy in my hand. It is like having a whole tool set at your disposal. Great features, not too much so the knife is not overkill, and great ergonomics.

I have loved Leatherman since I was a boyscout, and have owned several since then. I still own several today, but this is my go to outdoor knife. I love to hike with this guy in my pocket, sleek and low-profile it never gets in my way. I love the minimalist features of this knife, it really has everything you need for the outdoors, and none of the paranoid things that you don't. It is great for fish too! I love the lightweight frame of the knife, and the carabeaner function. Overall it has been my favorite addition to my every expanding Leatherman family.

I have loved Leatherman since I was a young boyscout, and I have always owned a few since then. I picked up the Juice before spending a few years abroad for a Church calling and I am so grateful I did. Since then it has not left my pocket, I love that it has all the tools I need and yet is half the size of my other Leathermans. I feel the best feature is that it fits right in your fifth pocket in your jeans, and adds no extra bulk at all. Going on 6 years now, I still see no signs of rust, and have only had to sharpen it once.

After a disastrous run with the Gerber River Shorty, and having lost many a dive knife before that due to poor sheaths, I was at my whits end when I was introduced to Spyderco and this little number. This knife was actually my introduction to Spyderco. I found out a little after the knife was discontinued however, so it was a struggle to find one. Let it be noted I ended up with the Caspian 2 Salt. The difference being, the 2 has a blunt tip, which I love since underwater it makes it feel like I have more control (why? I am not sure). This product has a great sheath, right out of the box! I had read several complaints that it was not made for 2" webbing, but if you were to dremel out the sides, it could be. The way the knife fits in and out is great, I love having a giant button that really holds it in well. The bend on the knife was something one has to get used to, but quickly becomes a nice feature. I love the giant finger hole also, it really helps since you can leave it on an index finger and have almost free reign with your hands without having to resheath the knife. Resheathing by the way, is a little bit difficult, there is no definite snap so you kind of have to wiggle it to make sure it's in there. To date though, the miraculous H1 steel has lived up to all it's expectations and promises. It is still every bit as sharp as the day I got it, and not a spot of rust. I have had about 4 dive knives now in my life, and this is by far the best! I lost the first one due to a bad sheath (I was a teen anywho and it was way to big for my own good), the second was the disastrous Gerber River Shorty, and the 3rd was the NRS Pilot, which I have to grumblings about, I just ended up not liking it for whatever reason. Sadly this knife is no longer being made, so I am sorry if I got your hopes up.

I received this knife as a gift from my brother in law after he heard me talking about it. It was needless to say, a very appreciated gift. I have had it for a while now, and it is one of my favorite camping knives. I use it as a kitchen instrument, it is great for fish, cutting anything for a camp meal, and just plain looks good. I could see myself using this to dress an animal if needs be, but for me beyond the camping kitchen I just don't see myself using it. It also cleans up really well, I have yet to have any stains on the hardwood (whatever type it may be), no rust to date, and haven't had to sharpen it an ounce.

Purchased recently to be used as general carry knife for survival and hunting. Took a beating when splitting, held an edge well, was also able to skin a few animals and birds very well. Would like to see it come with a better sheath as its a bit lose on my belt. All in all for the price can't go wrong. Mr Ron you Should try mounting the knife at a different point on your belt.

In need of a new hunting knife recently I was drawn to the SOG Revolver Hunter since it had a built in saw. When it first arrived I was not too impressed with the sheath, and that was quickly replaced. However the knife was sharp, well balanced, and light. I took it on an elk hunt a few months after getting it, since that is what I bought it for. After getting an elk, I began to dress it with this knife and was not disappointed. It cut well, the gut hook performed as was supposed to, and even in the end it was still very sharp. I was very impressed that I was able to dress an entire large animal without having to change blades. The saw worked great to, and made it easy to quarter. I did add some paracord through the loop on the handle, and was glad I did since it was so cold where we hunted. While the knife might feel a bit flimsy at first, mine had no wobble as I dressed my animal, and I was able to put just as much pressure on the knife as I would any full tang series knife. Clean up is a little bit trickier however, there were chunks of misc. stuff where the knife splits in the handle that were a little too hard to get out in the field. To me however, that is it's only flaw and I can see myself using this little diddy for the next few years.

SOG builds an incredible knife, even if they are made in China or Taiwan. I have used my Flash 2 as an EDC knife for a while now (rotated out with other knives of course) and it is my favorite. The spring assist makes it so easy to use, great pocket clip, and personally for me the yellow handle was an easy sell. I have used it camping, hiking, and everyday! I really have no bad things to say about this knife. I have had it for about 2 years now, and it is still as sharp as the day I got it. The satin finish makes for an elegant looking blade too.

Comments:

I could not believe the lack of quality when it came to such a knife from Gerber. I have many other fine Gerber blades, and generally love their commitment to a higher standard. However, this was not the case with the River Runner. I bought this as my dive knife, having lost a few in the past due to poor sheath designs, I was initially drawn to this knife because of the sheath. The sheath is a tension sheath, in which the blade clicks in and out of, it is very sturdy and one that I wish other companies would copy. The knife fits in either way also, which is a plus. The sharpness of the blade out of the box was not lacking, I did feel the need to give it a good once over on a stone. On my first dive with the shorty, I used it to pry some mollusks, kill an octopus that I caught, and even cut some fishing line I found wrapped around my leg at one point. It performed wonderfully! However when I got to the surface I noticed some rust on the blade by the hilt. Nothing a little steel wool/lemon juice couldn't take care of, but rust non the less. I rinsed it with fresh water, then proceeded to treat as mentioned above. The rust came off, but the next day when I awoke, I actually found the blade had rusted even more just sitting in the humid air. I was told it was stainless steel, what type I still don't know to this day, I have had other 440 type stainless steel fishing and diving knives in the past, but none have ever rusted like this rust bucket. I would go through the aforementioned process after every dive it seemed, and enough was enough in the end. I sold it. Still to this day I am not sure if I had a defective knife, or what, but I can say that I never saw it without rust after that first dive.

I have used this utility knife for over 10 years. I use it on a daily basis at work or home. The cutter and blades still hold a good edge with never being re-sharpened. Good selection of accessory tools and very sturdy design. I highly recommend owning one of these excellent tools.
