This is just a neat lil'EDC, one of my favorites. One of the best bargains for the the price point and quality. Holds a great edge, and it just fits my hand perfectly.

I just bought my very first buck 112 after looking at them for a few yrs now. my everyday carry knife before was my 2012 buck 110 from January 2013 till FEB 2014 when I got my 112 I have been carring my 112 everyday since 2/22/14 I have used it a few different times but have not had to sharpen it yet although cant wait till I get my first chance to put it on a stone. I really am impressed by this knife even though it is a scaled down version of my 110 it is doing the same everyday chores that I did when I carried the buck 110 all the time. I cant wait till we start camping and I get to use it every weekend during the summer. I also plan on using it as a work knife and carring it in the woods while just walking or out squirrel hunting. cant wait to get to use it on a few squirrl's.

This D2 steel pocket knife has some great design features. It has D2 steel, titanium handles that are very ergonomic, and a strong frame lock. The material and design are fantastic, the only two downsides are the Teflon washers and tip down carry only. Other then that on solid pocket knife.

Nice little knife for an affordable price. The blade is sharp, non-corrosive 420HC metal. The 79mm blade lenght is good for everyday carry, and also long enough for work or self defense. The grip is ergonomic. The lock is good. The grip is made of plastic, which is lightweight, and it does not look cheap on this knife! Some reviews mentioned that their blade was not well centered, and had bad side play. Fortunately I had no such issues. I think it is nice option for an affordable price. Very good Value/Price ratio.

Mostly I agree with his comment but it is the weight that is paramount because its quite difficult making a middel weight knife of this size cheaply.

well how to start,

i bought it for the design, it's my 2nd SOG, and even though AUS 8 is my favorite steel for light use it's just fine, came really sharp and i maintened it that way by stropping

i loved and still do the ergos on it is well built but with flaws mainly the liners are thin and bite into your and the micarta slabs are low cut sow they won't protect either, too bad, but it flies open it sleces like a lighsaber and it's just such a lovable imperfect thing

now the real problem:
i tried to change the pocket clip side (lefty thing) on the 4 screws 3 failed it's now back into sog hands let's see how they do customer service!!

Pretty good overall knife except for the flimsy belt clip which is why it I down rated it. I also dont like the ribs on the blade because it makes it harder to sharpen but I am no expert sharpener. This is a good knife despite its shortcomings but Id recommend someone to save a few more bucks and get something else.

I purchased this knife because my Kershaw Leek was illegal in the UK. I was searching for a solid, inexpensive, edc knife that would not be an issue anywhere. It is wonderfully thin and won't raise any eyebrows like say, a clip on your pocket at the office.
The Douk Douk is fantastic. It is nothing fancy at all. Just a perfect tool. It is just a few pieces of stamped steel, no lock, nothing flashy. It simply does the job every time. The blade holds an edge decent enough, I literally sharpen it on the underside of a coffee mug though.
Very interesting history behind the knife. My only real issue is that the intricate blade designs will wear off rather soon. Great knife for collectors and a great blade to just always have on you.

This is one amazing little piece of equipment, that can be put into multiple roles. The design works great and is made out of stout reliable materials. The 1055 shovel head comes with a sharpened edge all the way around it and can be used to do light chopping or a last ditch self-defense tool. For $22 worth every penny and is great for camping, military, off-roading, or around the cabin.

The Tops Knives Shango XL is one heck of a knife. Strong, durable, good build quality, and extremely ergonomic. I like the fire notch on the handle, and the 440C steel holds a great edge and is rust resistant for those of you in humid environments. The sheath is the only let down. It is made with good materials I just don't prefer the nylon design. A kydex sheath and fire steel would have made this knife a home run for the price. Other then that a great blade that is high quality and very ergonomic.

I definitively recommend this product because it is very useful, great design, good weight, flexibility and sharpness well combined.
We typically meet up at deer camp every year for a week of deer hunting. This Schrade knife is easy to maintain a razor edge. Yet cost is a fraction of what you'd pay for a knife built with so-called premium steel. It's a shame that some Americans feel badly about buying imported cutlery because this Schrade is a very well built knife. The design of this knife is perfect for the big game hunter. A good pointy tip for field dressing but enough belly for skinning chores as well.
I love this knife. Mine was razor sharp out of the box and has held an edge through cutting and slicing, light and secure in the hand and is just long enough for outdoor work as well as smaller chores. My only complaint is the sheath. The blade flaps around noisily in the sheath, there's no blade retention at all, the blade will bounce and fall right out. In summary, this knife is a KEEPER!

-Price Paid: $40.00

A Parang has been in my got-to-have-list for two years and I finally made the purchase after the machete failed.
This parang is really heavy duty unlike Bear Grylls parang. Its heavy, has a thick blade and really sturdy hardwood handle. The weight is about 2 lbs making it a tad too much for my feeble powers to do some serious chopping more than 5 mins in a row.
Due to its weight the handle plays very important part of using this parang. The steep curve at the end of the handle provides much wanted support when swinging a tool this size. Without that backing support the risk of the parang slipping out of your control is quite high unless you squeeze the heck of the handle which would make your hand tire faster.
In addition I recommend using a lanyard for added support if you are using gloves.
The blade is high carbon steel with classic finish (dimpled) and the thickness is 3/16" which is roughly the same you find on survival knives. Blade comes razor sharp and on my very first unsheathing the blade cut through the stiching (never grab a hold of the sheath under the sharp edge of the blade).
After spending an hour hacking through bushes and fallen tree trunks (1-2" diameter) the blade was like new. No dents, no bending, still cut through paper effortlessly.
Sheath is constructed of thick layers of leather and stiched together with strong string (my version was probably just a bad one). The blade is kept on sheath with two button straps and it has really thick belt loop.
Parang is quite versatile tool because it can serve as a small shovel/spade. Also the idea of parang is to have three different edge angles divided in 1/3 sections. First section from the handle is the sharpest for fine carving, then the wider angle for hacking and on the point something in the middle of these two. Basically I prefer having 1/3 fine and 2/3 wide for easier maintenance.
