this one is abit tricky to judge..
IMO axis lock has a significant design flaw
(at list as it's demonstrated on this knife)
you cannot close it 1 handed without getting your fingers notched by the pocket clip, if you remove pocket clip 1 handed close is not possible (unlless you use 1 side of studs which is bad idea because it will deform axis

I have many knives but this probably is my first one.
This knife is a classic and if you use it, you'll understand why. The tools are all useful, the overall quality is great and the weight is light (98 g). When you have to travel you can put it in your bag and you have solved many problems (cook-toilette-etc..).
Probably the better victorinox version is the huntsman (with hacksaw), but only if you do outdoor stuff.
Ok it's quite a small knife, but I think the better use for this knife (fixed) is heavy use.
One con is that it's difficult to clean it well, mine is often dirty..
It is essential also for any collection.
You have to buy it!

1. The weight is 83 g (98 g is the huntsman) 2. Above quoted I'd like to say that this knife is the best implementation of a fixed blade bushcraft knife if you do outdoors stuff

The SOG Mini Trident has been around for a while, and I have only just recently got my hands on one and I have to say that I am very impressed. It is lightweight, good AUS-8, amazing blade design, good price point, and comfortable handle. I own all kinds of pocket knives from benchmade too spyderco and I have to say the SOG Mini Trident is one of my new favorite EDC knives.

Comments:

Schrade SCHF12 Knife has some good materials that make up the blade. Good kydex sheath, G-10 handle scales, and 8cr13mov steel all at a good price of around $40. The problem is the handle is not ergonomic and creates an immediate "hot spot" in your hand and the Tanto/Recurve blade only good for stabbing and slashing. So this is a budget tactical blade that falls short in comfort and would not be recommend for survival/bush tasks at all.

Comments:

The Ka-Bar 1117 is designed to be a self defense neck knife. The blade shape is the exact same as the USMC Fighting Knife so the blade preforms well on the front end. The down fall is the handle is too short and uncomfortable. The knife has a great idea behind it but lacks the follow through.

I have to say I'm from Italy so you could understand the price and my incorrect English.
This is a regional knife from Thiers, a French city known for old tradition in knives. This is a spring lock knife, for two hand use It's a bit hard to open and close the blade, but makes a good overall solid impression. The blade is 12C27 steel or Norwegian steel, which is decorous steel usually used in French regional knives.
The spring is well decorated, and at this price this is admirable. Mine has the horn handle, but you can find this knife with many kinds of wood or other materials. The best use of this knife is with food, and other light use. I think that is great value folder with high attraction, especially compared with other modern/tactical folders of the same price range.

Another great one from Al. This knife is at the top of my list as far as great fixed blade knives go. The comfort in hand is perfect. The blade is short but stout so it fits nicely when you wear the knife on your belt. It's also small enough to throw into your pack or wear on a leg strap. The steel is superb (VG10 I think). It takes a razor thin edge. It does take a little time if you have to sharpen it though. VG10 is a really tough knife steel. I give this one 10's across the board.

A completely badass knife. Al Mar knew his shuff, which is understandable considering he was once a paratrooper and special forces member. His knives are the result of his departure from Gerber way back when, and they are freakin awesome. It's a relatively large knife, but I like to use a large every day carry knife. 4" is about the maxminum blade length for every day carry that I will go though. It has micarta handsles. Micarta is one of the best materials for knife handles used in wet conditions. THe full flat grind on the blade is one of the best blade grinds for slicing through things effortlessly. The liner lock is one of the strongest knife locks out there. Overall, this knife includes the best of the best on pretty much everything. I undoubtedly give it the full 10 star rating in every category.

I got this knife second hand. I had very high expectations about this knife, all are in love with it. This isn't a small knife, it is an EDC with self-defence attitude. This knife is nice and well done, blade opening is smooth, the liner is solid and not hard to push. The titanium handle has great grip and cool look. The clip point blade is probably more useful that mine: I think the Insingo blade is only better for cutting (both have a great look!). Like the Buck 110 and a few others, this knife has become a real classic. There are a lot of imitations on the web: I suggest this knife not only for collection, but also for every day use.

I have the CODE 4 TANTO POINT
I really don't know what "tactical knife" means: but this is probably a tactical knife.
The look of the knives is nice, aggressive. The build quality is high, very high considering the price (specially the US price). The issue with this knife is the use you have to do.
The tanto blade is nice but impractical; the titanium handle is too thin for any intensive use (use a pukko knife and you understand what i mean...). The backlock is solid but when you push it the blade runs fast towards your fingers, like a guillottine (in one hand-use).
In my opinion is a nice looking knife, well done and with good quality, but i suggest it only for collection or self-defense (or tactical!).

The knife has perfect size and weight, is well balanced and has great blade (for the shape and quality of steel- S30V).
The look is amazing and typical of Spyderco. I don't like the compressor-lock on the knife much, it is a bit stiff and I have more confidence with liner/axis-locks. The G10 handle has good texture and grip, but looks bit cheap for this price range (and also over 100 bucks).
I know this knife is considereted one of the best EDC but I think is a bit overrated (especially at this price).
