I have used it for over a year, and it is awesome for what have i done with it and he still luves his sharp life. Its great value, and I realy like it.

It feels very comfortable, the weight is distributed awesomly, its not too long - just perfect to do semi heavy things..for hevaier things I just use axe!

Like the sheath, really comfortable and great.

Handle is awesome, it is strong enough, is rugged, feels really great and I already made copy of that handle for my cold steel blade from Siberia.

I bought a Gerber MK II when they first came out. I still have it and it's a bit dinged up from years of use, but it has never failed to answer up when I asked it to do something. In camping uses I've cut wood, shaved off shavings for the fire, sawed through limbs, opened cans and so on. All the usual stuff connected with camping.

I think the only thing that ever irritated me was that these old leather holsters had tanning acid in the leather. Don't store your Mark II in the holster for any long period or you may find some marks from the acid working on the blade. You can buff it back up to snuff, but it's something I wish I'd known back in the day.

I made one small modification to it. I wet a thong and wrapped it super tight around the handle, twisting it as I wrapped it so I'd have a very rough gripping surface. Then in case your usage got your hand wet there is no slippage.

All I can say i WOW! why use a dagger or double edge knife for camp Chores ? Thats what a single edge knife is used for. Very Interesting

The RAT 5 is a great knife! Well balanced and extremely sharp 1095 blade. I especially like the grip and the way the handle fits the contour of my hands. I've ordered two with Kydex sheaths to take to the take to field. The only negative that I see in the knife is the sheath that's sold with it.

The Model 1605"clash" is a great economy knife. While it is inexpensive it is not a"cheap" knife. It has a 3.25" 8cr13MoV blade that comes razor sharp out of the box.The blade is a full inch in width which makes it quite beefy for it's size.Kind of a modified drop/clip point look to it.It has full liners and injection molded polymer handle scales. It also has the speedsafe opening mechanism which works very well on this knife.Has a big fat pocket clip which is reversible tip up or down right side only. Both ways it ride's deep in the pocket. No lanyard hole on this one, why? the actual build of the knife prevents it,no where to put it.But other than hanging a fancy paracord lanyard from one,who really uses them anyway. The handle material is kind of on the low end of quality but it really holds up to hard use.I dropped mine a few times and absolutely no damage at all.It weighs in a a hearty 4oz. but doesn't really feel that heavy. The AO is awesome on it,super fast, just nudge the flipper and it flies open.No blade play at all, blade is perfectly centered and locks open solid. It's a very strong knife.Even though it's on the small side, you can with out a doubt use it for self defense if needed. It's a great buy for a quality inexpensive knife.

Very useful knife: it is lightweight, without feeling cheap, and providing great fit and finish when open and closed. The blade is small enough to not be threatening, but long and tough enough for day to day needs; plus the S30v steel takes a great edge. The Nak-lock mechanism is easy and natural to disengage, with the added benefit of not leaving your fingers near the blade as it closes. The hinge holds strong and has no play and is easy to tighten or loosen with the tiny torx screw bit. (lanyard ring would also make excellent pommel)

Blade-to-handle connection is wobbly. Does not come close to advertising claims. Assisted opening is nice feature but a gimmick. Structurally this knife is a toy compared to similar priced CRKTs, Gerbers, Spydercos, Kershaws, Cold Steels, etc. Bummer: I have SOG multitools and fixed blades that are unbeatable.

I am reviewing the shoki as seen in this in this photo. Great feel in the hand, light enough to wear with even a suit yet large enough to get any job done, the wine wood inlay has a great texture, and the action on the blade and the nak-lock is smooth, it came shaving sharp and its been easy to keep it that way. i am not impressed with the leather sheath, it does not match the quality of the knife. overall, i love this knife and would recommend it to anyone looking for a gentlemans carry without sacrificing the durability of an edc.

I bought this knife to try out as an inexpensive backup for my BK-2. I have the plain edge version. This is a very nice field and camp knife. I don't think you can do much better for the price. It's very sturdy and quite sharp out of the package. It's holding an edge well for stainless steel (440A) and it's fairly easy to sharpen. It's solid I'm not afraid to put to some hard work. The grips are comfortable to hold and not slippery at all, but they are a bit slim if you have big hands. The only real downside is the sheath, but it is functional, and for the price it's about right. This is not a Becker or SOG or Cold Steel, but I wouldn't be so afraid to lose this one in the woods, either. I definitely recommend this knife to anyone.

This is yet another really good knife from Kershaw. If you're considering buying this knife, you should just go ahead and pull the trigger; this knife is a standard.

Great ergonomics and fell in your hand. Not much to say really, it just feels right! It's easy to choke up your grip when you need to use a lot of force but need to maintain solid control. Construction is solid like most Kershaws.

Deployment is amazing on the Blur. Super fast assisted opening. The SNAP it makes when it deploys is really nice... the Blur is one confident knife. As per usual, This Kershaw's lock up leaves nothing to be desired. I love the flat grind and overall shape of the blade. Again, hate the silly recurve in the blade.

The only reason I won't always have this in my pocket is the texture on the scales. The traction tape or whatever it is on the scales is a bit too pronounced and aggressive. It will wear your pockets a lot more than most folders, and you will know it everytime you take it out of, or put it into, your pocket. It's very sandpapery. Although it has worn down with use a little , I can still see it working its magic on some new Mavi jeans, which have always been uber durable and last for years. YMMV.

This would be my favorite EDC knife, but honestly, pocketability is really important. The Blur is like that expensive, super awesome, fixed blade that you love but hate to carry because it's got a terrible sheath that just works really poorly. That's just a minor caveat as this knife is great for everything else you can think of. I love the Blur.

This is a really great knife. Build quality is great. The aluminum scales feel very solid and comfortable in hand and despite lacking any texture for improved grip, the shape and ergonomics of the scales actually lock into your hand surprisingly well. The way your index finger fits the choil area really helps your grip and combined with the slight relief on the spine of the blade, it really is easy and comfortable to choke up on the blade with your thumb. the balance and weight together make this knife feel good in the hand.

By far my favorite thing about this knife is it's ease of carry. It really is significantly slimmer than many of my other knives, especially those with a similar blade length. Combined with kershaws standard, but still good, pocket clip, the knife rides pretty discretely in your pocket, very comfortably, and does not interfere with getting your hand into your pocket like some knives. This goes back to the untextured aluminum scales... some people don't like the lack of grip, but what they don't mention is how smoothly and easily it slips in and out of your pocket. I'm not worried about it falling out thanks to Kershaws relatively long, sturdy, and low profile clip. This knife is very well suited for EDC if you're like me and prefer more than 3" on your EDC blades.

Deployment on this knife is really nice. The lack of thumb stud is not a problem at all. Even if you aren't used to flipper designs, this one is super easy to get used to. When activated, the deployment is fast, and satisfying. Lock up is tight on my knife without any blade play. it's a liner lock, which is fine by me. It seems like a sturdy lock and has never given me reason to question it's strength, but one concern is that it doesn't look like it engages completely (only about half the width of the lock gets behind the blade).

The one thing I really hate about this knife is the stupid reverse curve on the blade. All recurves do is make it harder to sharpen. If you already use rods to sharpen then this likely is not a concern for you, If your like me and have invested in nice DMT diamond stones... it sucks. Besides, from what I can tell its just designed to look cool. Also, this knife seems to make knife-phobes a little nervous because it looks like a murder weapon... that's their problem.

Great EDC blade. Great price. Steel is adequate.

This knife is a great edc/light tactical knife from cold steel for under $55. The lock up is rock solid and after dropping it and even falling on it when it was in my pocket, it had no play whatsoever. The blade is sharp out of the box and holds a really nice edge. Handle is grivory and really gives an excellent grip with all the finger grooves. At first it is a little hard to unlock the knife, but after a little use and oil, it opens up pretty fast. Only thing you have to watch out for is the blade rusting. Just make sure you dry it out nicely everyday. 3 and a half inch blade gets all your edc tasks done.

Really nice knife that wont break the bank

Cold steel again does another goodjob!
